Character Sheet Maintenance
Damn smilies...
Anyway, a small dilemma I'd like your assistance in solving. How should we go about maintaining character sheets? I originally thought to use D&D Insider's online program, but it is very much not house rule friendly. Made up feats and equipment do not go in very easy, if at all.
Is there an editable .pdf that we could use for this purpose that could be thrown into our shared "Brave Assemblage" Dropbox folder? I'm really big on centralizing the sheets so that losing a physical copy never holds back someone from playing.
I think the DDI deal may get used in tandem as it's really good about giving power and magic item rules in a very useable format, including telling you which feats do or might apply to a given attack or damage roll.

Re: Character Sheet Maintenance
I would love an PDF form. I'm using the Mad Irishman's 4e sheet, which I think is just great, but doesn't have a form version. I got totally spoiled by the 3.5 form.
Amy, you have fancy versions of Adobe, right? Can you turn an existing PDF into a form?
Failing that, I have a radical, low-tech solution. What about keeping second copies of our sheets, that live in a folder at Chez Aitken-Banco?

I do in fact have the fancy versions of Adobe! (Acrobat X Pro and the less fancy Photoshop 7 to be exact) I haven't quite figured out how to use all the functions of it yet, but yeah I'm pretty sure I can manage that with a little futzing.

Sorry. Just saw this.
I have a couple different pdf sheets that came with my acquisition of ALL THE BOOKS. One or more of them may be forms able to be edited. I'll check when I get home.

I have Adobe Acrobat on my computer, so if people want saved versions of their characters on their computers I can hook you up.

Re: Character Sheet Maintenance
If people are willing to go the Excel route instead of Adobe, I found a pretty nice sheet that's full of formulas to auto-fill all kinds of useful information based on what you enter (power descriptions, etc...).
It's also very easy to make it house rule-friendly.
Anyone interested?

Will be sent as soon as I get home. You on Dropbox? I'll just make it available there.

I do have dropbox loaded up. I even have been using it for other stuff on my end. Like making music magically appear for people.

I like music. Especially the kind that magically appears.

The folder with the excel file has been added to Dropbox.
You'll be looking to use the sheet labeled "UNPROTECTED." I already did the work of making it so you could do house rule stuff. Just edit it like you would any other excel file in the right spots.

Re: Character Sheet Maintenance
I'm all about some kind of safe electronic storage for my character sheet (shit happens, things get destroyed; pets; can't be trusted with paper and/or fire; I live in a dimensional nexus, etc) but Dropbox isn't really going to work for me, pretty much because my Dropbox is perpetually full, so it never syncs any more.
